As girly as it gets

I have no idea what possessed me to do this.  Maybe it's something to do with the fact that my nails are looking somewhat clean and natural now.  Anyways I'd previously tried and failed several times at the konad french tip plate m19.  I figured it would be perfect to do over Shellac because I can remove the mistakes without ruining the base.  And I did have to re-stamp it several times but I was pretty happy with the end result.  I used Billie French White to stamp with.  I topped it with one coat of Yves Rocher Pastel Mauve.

Then I stamped it with vines from Konad plate m36 in the same Billie French White and added a little fuschia gem.  I feel like I need to be going to a wedding or something lol.  It also looks like my nails are fake.  I do like it, but next time I'll do it in black :)

Still disappointed

It's been a few months since I placed my disastrous order with Yves Rocher.  I was so disappointed with my order that I hadn't tried out any of the polishes until now.  I finally decided to give Mauve Captivant a try.  Here's what it looked like on the website when I ordered it:

It was listed as a 'sparkling' polish and it looks like a duochrome in that photo, or at the very least packed with sparkly glitter right?  And here's what it actually looks like:

This was 4 coats!  Oh and the 3ml bottle is now half empty after one manicure.  But I'm fine with that anyways because I'm not all that impressed with the colour and I despise 4 coaters.  It was pretty much a given that I wasn't going to order from Yves Rocher again anyways so I'm not sure if an amazing polish would have been enough to change my mind.

And just like I do with all the colours I'm not very impressed with, I stamp them with a full nail image.  This is BM19 in Sally Hansen Chrome Moonstone.  The stamping is looking a little green in this photo but it's not at all.  This one came off right away.

Oh and something I thought was absolutely hilarious - I checked out my blog search keywords the other day and one of the them was horny unicorn.  WTF?!  How the heck did my blog come up under that?  I really don't think I want to know why someone was searching for a horny unicorn anyways.  Anyone else have strange or funny search words come up for them?

That'll learn me...

I am not a happy camper.  Last week I placed an order from Yves Rocher for some nail polish and some night repair cream.  They had this awesome sale on and I snagged 6 polishes and a tube of cream for about $30.  I spent a good amount of time picking out my colours and the shipping was relatively fast - about a week.  I got my order yesterday and here it is:

So the chapstick I threw in there for size comparison.  Yeah, those polishes are fuckin tiny!  3ml as a matter of fact.  So I looked on my order receipt to see if it said 'mini polishes' - uh nope.  So I looked on their website to see if I somehow missed the 'mini' in the polish name - uh nope.  But oh wait, if you click on the 'details' for the product, there in the bottom left corner in small letters - 3ml.  Wow guess I should have read all the small print!  But come on, who the hell charges $3 for a 'mini' polish and doesn't even label it as a mini?  Even the little Sally Girl polishes are 5.3ml and they are only $.99!  Oh and it gets better - they couldn't even be bothered to fill the fucking bottles!

Not to mention that the pics on the website look like duochromes which these are most certainly not!  Boo to Yves Rocher!  I will never order from them again and I don't even feel like cracking these open because I am completely disappointed!

Anyways, on another note...  I'm really not liking any of the recently released collections.  The China Glaze Anchors Away is boring for the most part.  The Justin Beiber Collection is pricy AND too girly.  The Katy Perry Collection is too girly and weird.  This crackle polish craze is just plain fugly and so is this multi-coloured glitter thing.  Or maybe I'm just in a real pissy mood in general :p
