2 Fluo Joe's

So Joe has a new collection out and I've already shown you Starry, the holo.  The collection also includes some new fluorescent colours and I picked up 2 of them.

This is 2 coats of Fluo Blue.  Doesn't seem very fluorescent to me, in fact, I think I have another similar colour...

On the thumb only is Sally Hansen Insta-dri in Brisk Blue.  Not an exact dupe, but pretty damn close.

And then we've got 3 coats of Lime Juice which looks more fluorescent than the blue one, but still not really.  This polish was a bit sheer so the 3 coats are very thick.  Which is why this happened:

I was too impatient to let it dry and stamped it while it was still wet.  I used China Glaze Lemon Fizz and plate BM04.

So since I ruined it why not swatch a comp of the closest colour I have.  The middle and pinky have 2 coats of NOPI's One Time Lime from the Justin Bieber collection.  The Joe polish is definitely lighter and yellower.

One thing Joe does really well is creme polishes.  I wish that the green had been more of a creme, but it's still a nice colour.  I probably would have worn that mani for a few days if I hadn't ruined it.  Hmm, need to work on patience...

Progress

Today I'm feeling a little better about posting my naked nails.  Here they are 2 months ago before I started the Soak Off Gel obsession:

And here they are now, after several gel manis and some intense scrubbing in between:

I still have a little bit to go but it's a MASSIVE improvement, no?  The ugly pink sparkly Gelish I wore 2 weeks ago is the reason for the peel marks so that should be gone shortly.

Since I was having a good nail day, what's better than a nice clean french manicure?

1 coat of Shellac Romantique, cure
Freehand white tips with Shellac Cream Puff, cure
1 coat of Shellac Negligee, cure
Repeat
1 coat of Gelish Top It Off, cure

This took me about half an hour longer than a standard gel mani.  I'm kind of anal and was having issues getting my tips straight enough.

I stamped it with Wet and Wild Black Creme and BM04 with a small pink gem and a random top coat.  I love how professional the Shellac french looks.  Makes me think maybe I should quit my day job lol.

Canada Day nail fun

So I brought my kit with me last Friday and did some nails for my family.  I only have two to show you  because some people don't know how to take care of their nails and I didn't want to scare you ;)

This is the Princess of Poo who painted her own nails with 2 coats of Elf Medium Red.  I stamped her with the maple leafs from the same plate I used on my own Canada Day nails - BM04.  Then I dotted with plain old black and white.

This is my Dad's cousin's daughter who is 16 I think.  I painted her with 3 coats of Orly's Charged Up and I stamped with Pure Ice's Silver Mercedes and BM06.  You can't really see it in this photo but I added a purple gem to the middle of the flower on each ring finger.  I loved doing her nails because she takes good care of them.  She was also a Konad virgin and now I've got her hooked.

We had a great but hot day on Friday.  Yummy food, only one obnoxious drunk and some pretty cool fireworks.  Not bad.

O Canada

Tomorrow is Canada Day and we have a big family party every year.  I'm bringing my kit with me to do Canada Day nails for all the girls and here are my own:

I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On.

Used scotch tape and China Glaze's Ruby Pumps here.  I had a bitch of a time trying to get the tape off in one piece.  For some reason it likes to rip on me.  I should try a different brand maybe?

Then I stamped with Ruby Pumps and BM04 and finished it off with a silver nail art brush.  I probably should have filled in the leaf but I didn't have the patience or the time...oh well.  This is pretty tacky for me but so is our party and hey I can't complain about a day off work either.  Have a good one!
