Lazy day

This is 2 coats of Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Blue Streak.  I love the Insta Dri polishes and I wish there was better variety.  The brushes are great and they really do dry fast.  This colour is slightly more green than the photo.

I had no clue what I was going to do for this mani so while I was browsing my stash I found the perfect matching glitter and decided to do an accent nail.  I added a coat of LA Colors in Treasure Island on the ring finger.  It really is a perfect match.  I love glitter but really hate the removal so I think this is the best solution for me.  I was too lazy to flip through all my plates so I just reused the plate from my previous mani - BM03 and stamped a little heart on each nail with Sally Hansen White On.  Probably not the best colour choice but like I said, I was feeling lazy that day.  And as it turns out I really didn't mind this mani at all.

Amazing green

This is Sinful Colors San Francisco in 3 coats.  This was the one polish I wanted so badly when I first discovered Sinful Colors and I couldn't find it until recently.  And when I did finally find it, it was a lonely bottle with spillage but I bought it anyways.  The colour is awesome, the sheerness is not.  I hate doing more than 2 coats of polish.

So I stamped it with Pure Ice Silver Mercedes and plate BM03 and oddly enough the stamping came out slightly golden.  So I added a gold gem to each.  I think it's a little bit too much but I did get a lot of compliments on this.

And a bonus shot of my Zoya Ivanka ring I wore with it.  Which also shows how bad my stamping alignment is...oh well.  I haven't made any new rings in awhile but I did pick up a new box of casting resin and I've got a ton of new polishes which will make fabulous rings so you may see some new ones here shortly.

Stampin' Joe

2 coats of Joe in Storm.  I love these polishes but they gotta do something about those lids!  This colour again looks familiar eh?

I didn't swatch them but this is in comparison to China Glaze Below Deck and Color Club Soft As Cashmere.  Doesn't match either of them, but it's not too far off from Below Deck.

Rexall/Pharma Plus last week had a big sale on all in stock nail polish and I picked up a couple of Sally Hansen Insta-dri's for stamping:

This is Jade Jump and plate BM03.  Wow does this ever stamp beautifully! I should have left it alone right here.

But no, I was in a stamping mood.  This is konad plate m53 and Revlon's No Shrinking Violet.  I'm really bad at matching colours.  I think it's just something you have to have a good eye for.

I also made my resin ring post into a sticky above for quick access for anyone who needs it.

Well it's apparently rocket science to RIM anyways...

Quick one today.  Ever since I downloaded OS6 on my Blackberry the picture quality has been much worse...ugh.  So the blurry pic above is 3 coats of Orly's It's Not Rocket Science.  I found once I got this on my nails that it seemed more like a rusty gold colour rather than green...weird.

I stamped it in black with plate BM03 and added a black gem to the center.  Topped with NYC quick dry.

I forgot to mention about the last mani with Carnation Creation - it chipped the morning after I did my nails!  What the heck is up with that shit?  I'm hesitant to buy any more Finger Paints polish now.

Resin tutorial should be up next week!

St. Patty's Day #2

I decided to do another St. Patty's Day mani and started with 2 coats of OPI's Don't Mess With OPI which I picked up in the US from the Texas collection.

This is my new favourite polish!  It seems pretty similar to Jade Is The New Black which I've seen swatched everywhere and I have no idea why I didn't grab that one when I first saw it.  I am totally loving this colour and it will be used often.

So I wanted to do something a little fun for a change and the initial idea was to make two beer mugs toasting on two fingers but after I did the first one I figured a second beer mug might be too much.

I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Mellow Yellow and Essence in Sundancer for the mug.  Then I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White On for the foam and stamped NYC in Flat Iron Green with image plate BM03 for the little Shamrocks.  Topped it all off with Seche Vite for the super shine.

I texted the photo to the Princess of Poo and got a good laugh out of it:

Poo: wtf?
Me: beer dork!
Poo: Oh it just looks like polish glopped on

Yeah I suppose it does but I'm so in love with this green that I don't care!

My Kind of Holiday

So I didn't post any valentine's designs because quite frankly, even typing that word makes me want to vomit.  But a holiday that's just an excuse to drink?  Frig yeah!  In fact I'm even contemplating another St. Patty's mani.

This is 3 coats of ELF Mint Cream.  Another coat even wouldn't hurt.  Anyways, I was going for 'simple and elegant' and some might find it boring but I liked it a lot.

I stamped it with NYC Flat Iron Green and BM03.  It's a bit hard to see in the pic but the stamp didn't come through opaque and it almost looked liked the clovers were real...very cool.  I'm always so tempted to 'overdo' it with the simple designs but I managed to keep this one like this and I'm glad I did.

One more thing for today...so yesterday I posted about the Color Club Catwalk Queen set I picked up at Winners.  I was happy with the colours when I bought it so I'm not going to complain to the company or anything BUT...I feel liked I got ripped off when I got home and found that my set was missing the holo polish - Fashion Addict.  And when I got home last night and compared the replacement polish to the rest of my stash I found it was Uptown Girl, which I already own from the Rebel Debutante set.  I also want to mention that when I bought the Catwalk Queen set they had about 4 of them at Winners and they all had exactly the same polishes...so none of them actually contained Fashion Addict.  So I don't think it's actually some random person switching out polishes in the sets.  Not cool Color Club!  They are obviously selling them to Winners at a steep discount while removing the 'hot' polishes.  This is not the first time I've noticed this either...my Untamed Luxury set also has glaringly obvious errors.  I just wanted all the Canadian girls looking for the Color Club's at Winners to be aware of this.
